Julie Urbišová is a journalist, documentarian, and creator of the podcast Doma ve Státech ("At Home in the States"). She studied journalism and ethnology at Charles University in Prague, and in 2007, she was an exchange student at the University of New Orleans (UNO). She has been living in New Orleans for 15 years. Julie collaborates with Czech media outlets like Česká televize (Czech Television) and Český rozhlas (Czech Radio), and she has written a book about New Orleans titled Doma v Nola ("At Home in NOLA"). ulie met her husband, Emre, at the University of New Orleans (UNO), and they have two daughters.
